MADE TO ORDER
KODA work alongside industry leading interior designers and architects to produce made to order furniture for commercial projects. Ranging from custom dining room furniture, bar furniture to office furniture and joinery shop fitting for the commercial environment.
Our manufacturing versatility, coupled with our enthusiasm for original design has put us in the position to collaborate with some of the best in the industry. KODA has fabricated the designs of many renowned architectural and design firms across the UK.
We are capable of working directly from shop drawings, or designers notes—assisting and suggesting to create the desired style and aesthetic. Whether you’re a small startup company after some bespoke designs, or a larger business wanting to update your look, we offer both design and manufacturing services.
Osteria – The Barbican Centre, London
Osteria presented us with a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with Searcys, Anthony Demetre, Caterine Design Group and the Barbican to help create a unique destination in an iconic cultural location. We were commissioned to design and manufacture made to order statement pieces of furniture for the heart of the restaurant and bar. We had two main criteria to follow, bold and characterful, the rest was left to us.
As with all our work we fully immersed ourselves deeply into this project, it is critical we choose the perfect pieces of timber, but perfect for us is not conventional. We love the imperfection of wood, the swirling grain, the intricate knots and everything in-between. Walnut was our feature timber for these pieces, it offers a unique character almost unrivalled in our opinion, but we paired the walnut with sapele, steel and pewter to bring all the materials together.
Aude Conference – HASSELL
The AUDE Conference stand was developed in collaboration with Hassell on their 2017 conference stand in Manchester. The exhibition stand was a full end to end design, build and installation project.
The result was a free standing, open space exhibition stand designed to be assembled and disassembled onsite with minimal disruption. Made entirely of timber, this stand was cleverly designed by KODA to enable reusability for future events.
Shilling Brewing Co. – Glasgow
The Shilling Brewing project was a major re-development of the old Hortons pub within a Grade A listed building. Working with London design firm Jestico & Whiles, we were privileged enough to create a feature piece that was made to order for their VIP brewers room and tasting bar.
No.6 Bar – Swansea
No.6 is a new sophisticated drinking establishment in Swansea. Ruam Architecture approached us to produce a variety of commercial furniture to make their desired aesthetic of a relaxed, yet elegant environment tangible. The commission included made to order dining tables, bar tables, coffee tables, benches, hanging wall units and hairpin legs. The brief was fairly simple, create something stylish and functional with an industrial chic theme.
Artisan Coffee – London
Artisan is an independent cafe that brings the Australian coffee obsession to South West London. Edwin and Magda, the brains behind the coffee, reached out to us to help furnish their Ealing cafe with made to order furniture.
In collaboration with Edible Bus Stop, ‘London Calling’ debuted at Potters Field Park nestled between Tower Bridge and the Mayor of London’s City Hall.
The installation presented a piece of formally loved street furniture that had been abandoned and become practically obsolete. Reclaimed by nature, the phone box creates a micro growing climate, providing a home to plants and a platform for a new public seat fashion from it’s former door.
St Pauls Crescent – London
Working with Meraki Design we were commissioned to make bespoke made to order furniture for the redesigned extension of a property in North London. The contemporary design featured brass and Cedar of Lebanon.
